I got a good hook up on them (3 in a box for $500). what would be a good amp to power them? I can get a really good deal on MMats amps, but I dont know how many watts I will need, or if they are good amps.
Either choice in a sealed enclosure, will have some of the best sound quality there is, and I guarentee you it will get loud/low enough to make your ears bleed.
I was referring to MMats P3.0's ...not RFosgates..
AH, well that changes everything
If you were to wire 3 Dual-4 Ohm Subwoofers in Series / Parallel you will get 2.67 Ohms
So if each sub is rated for 700 watts rms, if that amp you are talking about benches at 1500 watts rms @ 2 ohms, you are going to be sending about 400-430 watts to each sub. So I'm not too sure how good that will turn out. I can tell you right now though, that if you want to do three of those in a ported enclosure you will not have enough room for them. (Unless you use your whole trunk as the enclosure)
If you run them sealed, you should be able to fit them, but when you run sealed, subs tend to like to see more power. So it's kind of a catch 22.
MMat's are great amps, get one of those if you get a good deal on it.
I just wouldn't rec. 3 subs. Two should be more than enough, but the problem is getting the right ohm configuration. Those MMat's subs actually look like they're built by TCSounds. The baskets are the same. If you can find an ohm configuration that will allow you a 2 ohm final load, then have maybe two 15"s P3 subs split the 1500 watts. Find out the ohm config. of those 15"s, it says 2 x which I don't understand exactly what they are talking about.
Two TC Sounds TC2+ 15" sealed will be awesome off 750 watts each. That's what I'd rec.
Do you even have room for the airspace 3 of those subs will need?
All that bass is gonna drown out the music. Are you going to be doing SPL comp's?
Gonna draw alot of power? You think I will need to get another battery or upgrade my alternator?? As far as room for airspace, I am assuming I will. Im getting a custom built box for them. I will be doing some comps, but I am hooking up each individual amp to an on/off switch so when I feel like listening to music, I can. I did that with my other sub too. Works well
