according to woofersetc.com they have brand new A stock in stock for 299?? i dont kno if that is legit or not

Sure it's legit. It's just not authorized.

Woofersetc is an internet front for a smaller car audio shop that carries JL. You have to keep in mind that anything with a "JL Audio" label you buy online has absolutely no warranty coverage whatsoever. This can also be said about a lot of other brands as well...

AFAIK, the 12W6AE is the "original" 12W6 design that made it famous among competitors, but $300 is a bit steep for old technology.
