12 IDq in a ported with jl 1000.1

the only amp i got is the jl 1000/1 and its hard to sell it haha so would it be massive overkill to run that amp to a 12idq in a ported box in the trunk of my bmw???? let me know! THANKS YALL

No it will be fine xpecially that you are doing it ported. I ran a couple of them with a modded d2 Shredder and the KNOCKED. Just dont turn the amp too high, I know those JL amps are tricky to tune but once you do it they are awsome.

I would say it's way too much power. Get yourself another sub. Also keep in mind when you have a sub in a ported enclosure you actually need less power than sealed.

You can hook up 4 IDQ's to that amp and you'll get them to full excursion, especially ported.

I would use two 15" IDQ's in a sealed enclosure. That would be a very well balanced SQL system.

by the way i got tha idq practically brand new from car domain for 104 bucks ahhaa they had an open box on it and they said it was just a simple return so i got it what a deal!

No, that'd be a bad idea. Keep the amp you got and get another IDQ. Then put them in a sealed enclosure, and keep the gain down.

i just wanna have one good SQ sub i have past that stage where loudest is best for me i used to be a thug about car audio i had 3 12s and stuff now im done i want simple nice stuff so i will buy a new amp but what amp woudl be good to run one IDQ DUAL 2 ohm something cheap a nice cheap amp but good!
