Which form of deadener?

I saw an install by someone using second skin products where he deadened everything on his Tocoma. To tell you the truth he laid it on pretty thick (several layers of mats and spray-on) which made me wonder if it took that many applications how good could it be. I PM'd the guy to ask about that. Until I hear back from him hear is my question. If I wanted to ONLY use one form of product that required the least number of reapplication... which should I use? The mat, the spray-on, or the paint-on? I'm looking to do the ceiling, trunk (side and spare wheel well), firewall, doors and wheel well. I was set on edead v.3 then someone told me about secound skin's sludge which looks pretty good. If they do what they claim one layer will do the job of about 2 or 3 layers of mat. I really cant believe that but Im no expert. What do you all say?

I prefer mat myself. But I'm also going to be using the liquid deadener on some parts of the install. Such as the back of the door panel, and areas where matting can not be applied(Hard to reach areas) or uneven surfaces.

a combonation of both is best IMO
matt wise, if you can get a good deal on some thick enough (50+) asphalt mat use that in combo with some butyl based stuff
sound deadning is the one thing thats damn good in my car
no rattle, and rolllin @ 80 with barely any wind noise
mmm

Well, I'll tell you this much, some forms are certainly easier than others depending on the application. If you want something that is easy to do and quick as well, go with liquid/spray-on. I used eDead mat for my trunk and only did one layer and it does a damn good job at keeping the sound in. I can barely hear the bass when I'm outside of my car with the windows rolled up (@ average listening volume). However, it took me the better part of a whole weekend to do the trunk and rear deck, and that was with a couple people helping, off and on.

I also ordered some SS Sludge, which isn't quite liquid, its exactly what the name states - Sludge. You can't spray it on, but you can brush it on. I used it on my doors as well as my rear wheel wells (interior side). One gallon covered al 4 doors of my Camry and the wheel wells. The difference was very drastic. I stand by SS being a good product, and while some on other forums may not like the company or the product, Personally, I'd do business with Ant (the owner) again, actually, i plan to, when I get some more cash. But I still have a gallon left over for my front wheel wells, and when I get some time, I'd be more than happy to let you know how that goes. All 4 doors and the wheel wells took me most of a single day. Then it needed to cure for another entire day, but luckily I didn't have anywhere to go. I just cracked my windows a bit to let the moisture out, and it cured wonderfully. And the nice thing about the Sludge, is you don't necessarily need to do multiple layers, but you can make the layer(s) as thick as you like.

A lot of people will suggest Raammat if you choose to go with a mat. I hear they are fantastic and Rick (the owner) is a great guy to work with. In final summation, i would say if you choose to go with the mats, go Raammat, if you choose to go liquid, go Sludge. Surely there are other quality products out there, but this is what I know (or have a good idea about). Any other questions, feel free to ask.
