Overkill with 4 gauge now. Easier to run one the 4 gauge now, instead of installing the 8 gauge, removing it, and running the 4 gauge. Waste of money to buy the 8 gauge, and then having to buy 4 gauge later.

When I installed a Soundstream Reference 300 in my trunk, I ran 4 gauge, since the amp could accept 4 gauge wire, and to cover future upgrades.

T'd off the 4 gauge via a Stinger T block, is a Punch 60. Soundstream was replaced with a Kicker DX350. 647 watts total with no problems.
