There was a case of this happening in Long Island not too long ago. Guy left his keys in his Mercedes, thieves hit home on GPS, thieves steal Porsche parked in garage. Shitty luck for that guy.

Same thing happens:

Someone breaks into your home and steals your valuables, and spare keys.

You call the cops and insurance company, and leave to replace w/e else was taken. Then come home at night exhausted from the earlier event.
Later, the robbers come back with your keys and steal your car.

Whats the difference between this and the ownership and insurance slip that is usually in your car with address and everything.

i'd wait for them and when they got to my house i'd blow their heads off with a shot gun and use their guts to keep the snails off my tomatoes.

Yea.

And what thief is stupid (or brave) enough to actually do this?

Ok let's go to the owner's home and steal more stuff.... I'd do the same thing and blow their heads off if they had the guts to come to my house after stealing my car.

I like your thinking, but if they've stolen your car, how are you going to get home before they get there?

Wild.

I guess if you wanted to set a clever trap for thieves intending to make your home their next target, you could set "HOME" to be the police station nearest your house...

Leaving his keys in the ignition was his own application of Μολὼν λαβέ.

You can easily get the same information from the glove box. Everyone keeps there registration in the car when they drive. Its just a matter of looking up the address and going to the house. Either way you screwed
