True but its the difference of having and hearing a pneumatic drill and air compressor over just using a hand wrench.
You can take off locking lugs but anything to make it more difficult and noisy is always better in my book
Well, actually, a solution to that would be to carry around a couple of common keys to locking lug nuts, that would require a substantial inital invsetment however... But yeah, let's not get into the locking lug nut argument, the wheels are gone already...
I would keep an eye out on craigslist, maybe the thief in question might want to resell them there?? But yeah, that sucks to have them stolen, and you would figure they would at least properly support the car!!! I'm guessing insurance will now require the owner to send it to a body shop before getting the owner a new set of rims?

you know... that's true ain't it? there must be only a certain number of keys that can be tried until you can open those locking lugs
my friend's civic had locking lugs and lost his key... so his friend who owns a civic as well tried his key and it worked... ridiculous lol
I'm thinking to put the same wheels on, but this time put the cam to record everything happening around, and hand the vid to the police.
I hate theives. I used to have my covers stolen for 2 times and switched to alloy wheels.
To me, every lock is useless if they really want to get yours.
I have a motion feature on my car alarm. If you just tap the car it will warn criminals with a series of chirps. I don't want my car or anything on it stolen. The investment will pay for itself the first time someone tries to violate it. It's the first thing you should buy before you do any upgrades!

By telling him he should have had locking lug nuts.
I am still not seeing the link here; Theft happens yes; should you make it easy for them? No. Theft deterrence measures does not blame anyone. Where is your point?

Telling a victim that they should have done X to prevent a crime is victim blaming. Not installing locking lug nuts doesn't make it "easy" for them-- it presents the same level of difficulty as any other vehicle.
This is rather like blaming a woman for her own sexual assault simply because she "dressed provocatively", and then went to a frat party and got drunk. The blame is not hers, the blame belongs to the perpetrator of the crime.
