Question re: A/C in new XD

Hi . . Wondering about the A/C in the new X/D. I had a Yaris coupe loaner for a day in Palm Springs. . . Could not cool that car. Anyone have experience with the new X/D is very hot climates, such as Phoenix? All help appreciated. Pete

the xD has a larger engine then the yaris and would hopefully have a larger compressor too.

the first gen xB had the same cooling issue but also had the 1.5 litre engine. the xD has a new, larger 1.8 similar to the corolla. I would think it would cool sufficiantly.

Thanks for your responses thus far. I did take a test drive in the XD and was surprised and how strong the A/C seemed to be. Very quiet, powerful, and cold. The temp. was only in the 80's here that day. Seemed much better than the X/A.

My Mom drives an '05 Xa, and its A/C is very adequate, and she lives in Florida. The Xd I just bought has great A/C also, but I've not driven it yet in Florida's summer heat...the ultimate test for air-conditioning. I must say, every Toyota product that I own or have owned in the past had very good A/C.

Mr.

Got a new Xd for my wife. A/c works good for Phoenix,AZ weather.

I only got a problem! when run 70-75 mph on the curve and for a quick change lane, the car seem to be lean so much compare with my 4runner (I get use to!)
Should I buy and Install a rear sway bar to take care that problem and how hard/easy to install, any one did install for your vehicle, let me know how improve after you did
Thank you
(also, I test drive 2008 Honda Fit,Fit does not have a problem like Xd which is fast change lane on Freeway made our body lean so much but 1.5 compare to Xd 1.8........Fit seem to be have under power compare to Xd)

i think a while back a co work of mines lowed one at work. i use to work for a toyota dealership but i been out of it for a few months now. back to school blah blah blah economy sucks lol

anyways if you do. i would get both front and rear. they should be pretty easy to install and should help with the sway

another thing you could do is get it lowered . not much i think eibach pro kit are little stiffer and only a .5 drop

You could lower the car and get sway bars for it but they wont do a whole lot of good if your still running stock tires and wheels. Start with the tires and go from there. Stock tires on an xB/xD aren't that great to begin with.

I'm confused by this comment.........

The 1.8 engine in the xD is brand new to the US lineup. The 2ZR-FE Started its life in the 08 xD and is now in the 09 Rolla and Matrix.

hmm i started with suspension stuff 1st because i wanted to make sure i get a nice looking set of wheels. kinda easier to picture once u get all most ur suspension stuff done. you are right bout the tires tho but even with wider/gripper tires. it would just sway even more
