Value: '08 X/D vs. '08 X/B

Drove both . . . and frankly, the X/D is so much more agile and fun to drive. Yet . . . value wise, so much more bang for the buck in the X/B. Hard to justify. Much much more vehicle: Much larger engine; Much heftier vehicle with more space; traction is standard ($650 option in the X/D); four wheel disc brakes standard in the X/B; Driver's seat has height adjustment in the X/B; and the list seems to continue. Either Toyota priced the X/B too low or Toyota priced the X/D too high . . . . just very difficult for me to justify going with the X/D at these non-negotiable prices. My two cents here of course. Am I missing something here?? All opinions are welcome. Pete

Just a matter of what you want more. Agility and a smaller car or the xB which is still very tossable with a lot more perks. :-)

The XBs are really nice. It would be the perfect family car. Of course the fuel mileage isn't as good as the XD's mileage, but definitely blows away a mini-van or SUV...no doubt about that.

Thats what swayed to toward the XD. Since I'd be using it for business 100-300 miles a day, fuel economy was a prime concern, followed by ease of entry & exit and ride comfort/room.

I truly loved the XB. Much more power, much quieter more comfortable ride and killer looks.

But the mileage SUCKED!!!

Decided on the XD and never looked back.

Gotten a LOT of compliments in the last week or so of ownership that I frankly never thought I'd hear

Always driver cars that as the sales lady mentioned, had "charachter." 89 FJ62 LAndcruiser, 87 Vette, 69 Camaro...the list goes on....

I thought this one would just meld into the hum drum of everyday life and I could ride along in relative obscurity. That may not be the case, so....time to think about mods
