Hey guys I have one of the new 08 Scion xD's. I got it FOB back in August when they 1st came out and I have been lonely... not to many on the road yet. Anyways I will put some pics on here soon and hopefully get some insight from you guys in this forum. This is my daily driver, so I am just going for a "middle ground" look and performance car.
Umm, to date I have done:
Spectre short ram air intake
TRD sway bar
TRD spoiler
17" Fittipaldi Flames rapped in Bridgestone Potenzas
Blacked out the rear bumper reflectors
Scion Floor Mat kit
Yellow running lights
JDM driving badge
"Hopefully soon to be done":
TRD lowering coils
Yellow Fog Lights
TRD Struts and Shocks
Is there anybody out there or what... does it help if I also own a 9th Gen
Corolla, that I am trying to turn into an Altis? I am a Toyota nerd! Yeah...no?
LoL....Right now the xD ownership levels are a little low. Not too many of them out there.

Yeah that is true... but like I said I am a Toyota nerd and glad to be here with my 08 xD and my 03 Corolla. So I hope to learn a lot of info from you guys on all types of cars, facts and all that good stuff.
Hi guys. Just received my xD RS 1, Hot Lava last week. We also have a 2005 tC and a 1985 Celica GT-S convertible (last rwd Celica) at home.
The xD is an auto without stability control. I'm pleased with the ride and handling except things get a little harsh at freeway speeds. I suspect the lowering of the RS 1 is having a negative impact with larger road imperfections. I'm sure I will adjust.
I am seeing 29 mpg in town driving. What are you guys seeing on the freeway after some break-in?

Welcome!
I drove the Hot Lava before I purchased my Mettalic Magnetic Gray XD. Love the look. I'm on the freeway and on bumpy arsed local streets for 100-300 miles a day and the suspension just didn't cut it for me Really like it though!
I've got a little under 700 miles on mine in the last week and it's turning around 26+ in town and 30 highway.
My research indicates that at about 5k you should see a dramatic increase in fuel economy
I had one for about two weeks, then a lady ran a red light and took it out. It has been in the bodyshop for the last month. Had not even burned a full tank of gas yet. It is just not fair.

Hi I'm Ted and I too am a Toyota nerd! well trying for the tri-fecta anyway. Have and old 4-runner (snow car), an IS (my daily car), but now my wife need a new car (her ford is on it's last leg, she bought that car before me, so I'm not responsible for that decision). Anyway was looking at Xd yesterday may pull the trigger but we don't really need 3 cars, may go with compact AWD to kill 2 birds with one stone, getting what seems to be a good deal for a 08 impreza HB (~18K w/premium pack). What do you guys think?
OH and sorry for jacking the thread, just had to get it out of my head cause I'm going back and forth with this thing.

Hi Ted. Look like it's just me and you bro!
This place is slower than molasses on a winter morning
I had an 85 (straight axel) 4runner that was unfortunately stolen or I'd still have it Loved that truck!
The Imprezza is an unbelieveable car great looking, roomy, quick, modern and AWD
If you want to cover all your bases though, an AWD is the way to go but remember that you'll loose the ground clearance provided by a true 4WD vehicle such as the 4-runner.
If it were me, I'd get the Imprezza as a DD for all but the worse days and keep the 4-runner for those days where nothing but a snow plow can get through
Thanks Bbum,
I hear you about the runner, I love that car. I just a bit worried since she's getting on with her age and milage almost 170K now. I've taken good care but I know I will need to change the clutch soon, still the original but I've also just had a major tune up done so I don't really feel like throwing that $ away just to trade it in. In a bit of a dilema cause I did really like the way the subie drove the extra power and stability and the whole premium pack. But my wife and I both aren't wowed by the looks don't get me wrong it looks nice just not the same wow factor of an Xb. Plus she thinks it looks more of a man's car and the Xb is cuter. So the question is to do the resonable/sensable thing or go for the looks and "cooler" car.
the xD is a cute car and they do surprisingly well in the winter.
Both the Suby and the Scion have their ups and downs but the one thing you have to be carefull with in the Suby is the AWD. It's way to easy to get overconfident in the winter or durring bad weather conditions.
I have an xB and live in the middle of nowhere. With the crappy tires that are on it now, it got along better then my old Spec-v with the LSD and good tires.

We were looking at the xD, we went to check them out again last night this time to a dealer that had both toyota and scions in the same lot (she love the way the matrix looks) and we were concernd about the seat confort/driving position. The car does looks cool and I just love the value with all the accesories standard. How do you guys like the seats we're a bit concerned for longer road trips. I've read about the after market arm rest so I'm not worried about that, but just the overall confort on trips. Also do you guys feel that there's also more blind spots? Going back and forth I don't know how much more I can take of this. Starting to be not so much fun anymore.
