08 Xd. ????

Hey everyone we just got back from the toyota dealership. Possibly thinking about getting a new car, and we test drove an 08 XD. Its a nice little car.
This is the 2nd time I have given my local dealership a chance to sell me a new car. The first was on my Tacoma. However I got a much better deal some place else. It was the same sales person to.

I can't seem to find a lot of pricing information on the net about these cars, and I need to go back tommorw to take a better look at it.
But one thing they had on there was a dealer sticker not the MSRP siticker that said Market adjustment, price 1000 dollars?
The sales person gave us some line about there are not very many of these cars in these configurations or something like that. I wanted to know your opinnions on this. This was on top of the MSRP sitcker price that was 17.7

Just check that configuration in the internet and take it in to the dealer. If they don't adjust to the price you got, don't buy the car. They have the right to do that unfortunatly.

Are you looking at a release series???

1st-I hate most stealerships!

Now with that out of the way, Scion has what they call pure pricing. It's a fixed price and according to all the research I've done, can't and won't be negotiated. Like buying a car a CarMax only new

If they have a markup on it, it should only be for added items or a special addition.

I heard that these things are rare, we can't get them, they're "flying off the lot BS until I was ready to puke!!

If it's a special edition, then sure the price is going to be higher.

If not, tell them you don't want all the other crap and you'll buy it if they remove it. They won't (too much hassle) and they'll probably come off the stupid markup

I paid 18 and change out the door for mine in Florida, with nothing down and no trade. If your dealer can't get thier heads out of the sand, get in touch with me and I'll hook you up with the lady that sold me mine

Great people, very knowledgable and quite easy to look at.....I mean deal with

She'll get you what you want!

Pure pricing just means that you can't negotiate the price and as long as everyone is offered that price, they haven't done anything wrong.

The dealers are allowed to markup or down the price on the car but what is on the windshield is what it has to be sold at. What is on the glass also has to be what it is advertised at on the web, any commercials, newspaper ads and so-on.

The dealer is just hurting themselves and no one else. All you can do is shop elsewhere if you don't like the practices of your local store.

Unless I really misunderstood your post, what you're saying contradicts itself.

According to every stealership that I visited, pure pricing keeps the playing field level is set by the factory. The can't discount a vehicle below the pure priceing amount. As well, according to several of the stealers, they are occasionally audited on the sales?

This would negate the ability of the dealership to raise or lower the cost of the car above anything added to it wouldn't it?

I'm not sure why anyone buys from a dealership anymore anyway. With the internet and internet sales, credit unions, and buyers clubs, it's almost too easy to get it elsewhere.

Then again, I did get mine from one

BTW, I'm not arguing, just commenting. None of this is fact on my part, just hearsay from the dealers.

I can tell you guys one thing. This is the same dealership that I went to when I first decided to get a Tacoma. The first truck he showed me was a Dealer Demo 2500 miles on it. Gave me factory rebate and that was it. Lucky I'm not as young or as stupid as I once was, and said no. I new right off the bat I could get a brand new truck with 0 miles on it for the same price. We talked and hangled a bit but nothing happend. Well My G/F was a memeber of BJ wholesale club at this time so we went threw them at a much bigger dealership up in NOVA. Got the exact truck I wanted for close to invoice OTD. The sales guy that I delt with at first at this piticular dealership, was the same guy that came out and help us the other night. He hasn't learned anything. LOL. IDK if we are ready to buy a new car yet we will see what happens maybe a couple more months.

2009 xD

Used the internet and contacted four local Scion dealers. Three responded with emails. Two responded with generic pricing. One responded with a price-out-the door. Problem was only one had any cars. I went to the one with cars and their price was the same as the others out-the-the-door price, within $10. I got a 2009 xD for a hair less than 18K, that’s with floor mats, rear spoiler and 16” alloy wheels. Very simple and straight forward. I hate dealers and I hate the whole car buying process. The Scion pure pricing seems to work well.
