tundra crewmax gas

hi, I'm new to the boards... I have a question on the new tundra crewmax- 5.7L overhead cam engine--- what type of gas will this truck run on? I keep hearing conflicting stories and I'm really confused by what I'm hearing. some say use regular, others say use higher grades of gas. what do you all use? does anyone here have a new crewmax? what do you think of it? I'd really appreciate any help anyone could offer!

I use Premium

There has been this discussion here before but I use premium. It just performs better for me and I do get 1 mile per gallon better. I always seem to get better than the sticker says anyway. I like mine just fine. I waited a year to get one and I ordered just what I wanted. It is so much better than the Silverado I sold to get this.
How do you like yours?? Welcome to the forums by the way

Regular is OK, but premium is preferred by quite a few people, myself included. Better gas milege offsets the higher price and the increased performance is just an added bonus.

Pg 436: Select Octane rating 87 ( Research Octane number 91) or higher. So that's clear as mud to a laymen...I go with the middle grade, it's usually 91. If I'm towing the boat to Tenn or Ky I go with 93 (high test)

Some of the confusion is because the V-6 engine is calbrated at the factory for 91 AKI. V-8 owners hear this instead of reading the owners manual. The "octane" rating, or anti-knock index (AKI) on pumps in the USA is Research Ocatane Number + Motor Octane Number / 2.

Aviation gasoline also used to be dual rated (like 100/130) which was "lean" and "rich" octane numbers, today replaced with 100LL (for "low lead").

The manual only states 87? I'm suprised its not like the 1GR's in the Tacomas (and I guess base Tundras) and states 87 is okay, but for better performance, use 91
