Question Backup Camera

I test drove a new Tundra yesterday. It did not have the Navigation, but had a factory camera. The video display is really small and hard to see. Is it adjustable?

Not that I've seen.

I ordered one on my Crewmax

I hook up to a lot of trailers and I ordered it for that. I have done that dance where you get in and out of the truck 6 times to see where the hitch is. I made a little hinge for mine and when I hook up I just fold it down. works real good like that.

2.4 Ghz Wireless backup camera

Even if your truck doesn't have a camera, try this one on for size... I installed it and it works great. Some interference due to the wireless technology, but for the price I can certainly live with it...besides, it has always cleared up enough to allow me to accomplish the given task. No more dented bumper when parallel parking and when backing up to a trailer this gets me very close. Very simple wiring, I wired mine in to turn on and off when put into reverse.

This one lists for $139.00. I bought mine for $102.00 to my door...if I can find it for that price again I'll post it.

There was one I seen on my boat forum a while ago and I can't find it now. It was a yellow 2-piece thing, wireless and the small camera attached to the tailgate by a magnetic mount. The camera was handheld w/ a small screen. It was like 2~3 hundred bucks. Just meant to be a temp thing, just attach, turn on and back up. It looked cool and was cheap! I'll try to find it again.

Would you be able to use the stock backup cam with an aftermarket head unit, such as Alpine or Pioneer?? I know their displays have the ability to hook up a cam.

Back up camera

I'm getting ready to buy one - HeartlandAmerica.com has one in current flyer (& online for $99.99 & free shipping. If it turns out to be a real bomb, I'll return it (30 day return policy stated) & post a note here.

Please let us know how that camera is. I would store it in the top glove box or center console unless I wanted to use it... I don't like the idea of having it on my dash 24/7... for $99.99 you probably can't expect much though
