First post, First questions

Hello,
I took a test drive in a new 07 double cab Limited today and really liked it except for one thing.
With the lights on, the the radio numbers etc in the center dimmed to the point that they were completely unreadable (yes I did have the dimmer turned to full bright).
I asked the salesman if he knew if the dimmer could be disabled; he did not know.
This is a fault I have put up with on the dodge ram I've had for the last 10 years but the Tundra is even worse. I like to have lights on during the day when I tow.
So, can this dimming of the radio etc. be disabled / disconnected?
Second question: Who makes the nicest cap for the 07 Tundras? Opinions please.
Thanks...W

It is a problem

I have the sunroof and the radio and the clock and outside temp disappear during the day. I wish there was something that could be done so you could see it

Buckstom,
At least that confirms to me I am not crazy. It seems like a small thing and my wife thinks I'm being over picky but what the hell use is a display that can't be seen.
I am suprised that out of sixty-something views no one else has commented on this; maybe it has already been taked about on here.
Anyone have anything else to add?
Thanks...W

I didn't notice anything inpeticular about the brightness. It seemed alright to me but everyone sees things differently.

Not what you are asking, but I know I can't see the radio station with sunglasses on, that's irritating to me! I did notice yesterday, though, how dim the HUD got when I turned lights on.

Surely there is a fix?

I wear polarized sunglasses in my CrewMax during the day and I do not have a problem with the lights off. With the lights on and sunny outside, it is definately an issue, but fortunately I do not need to keep my lights on. When the moonroof is open and the sun hits both right, they are impossible to see.

-can't see mine either

I'm getting in on this late (I'm new to the site and I'm reading all the old stuff) But this is probably my main dislike for my truck. I don't know if the color of the writing on the display needs to be changed, or if the background BEHIND the writing needs to be a different color or what, but it does bother me. In broad daylight, I can't read any of that information on the center dash display...
Maybe the overhang (above the display) needs to be larger, or the screen may need to be recessed further back on the dash? I dunno, but it is a pet peeve of mine.
