While I feel your need, I have to work a truck every day. In order to get that truck you have to special order it most of the time. The dealers love the amenities because they make twice the profit on them, so if you go to the lot, thats whats there. Their so called work truck six cylinders and nothing. To get a tow package, big V8 etc you have to have the quad cab super pkg etc for 10000 extra with a bunch of carpet that holds sand, mud, sawdust etc. for life. My new Tundra is the only one I've ever seen with no carpet, just plastic and rubber on the floor. It has comfortable seats, cd/ac etc, but its also easy to clean inside and out. The dealer had to go 250 miles to get it though. I've had it two weeks, picked up feed, towed 4 times, and have a 10ft gate in now. I've used the 4wd at least every other day in and out of my barns and in five years and 100000 miles from now I'll let you know if its any good.

I think I know what Vmax is looking for. Its called the canyonero f series. Check it out. Seriously though I also like driving a truck that has a more luxury interior, 6 disc cd is a minimum. Although it is a nice option to get the non carpeted version for dirtier work such as on a farm.

Doesn't every truck manufacture make "Fleet" trucks? These are truck that they sell to businesses in bulk with NO frills. Maybe only A.C.??

Or did they stop doing that?

The fleet type basic truck you see usually has the basic motor only, v6 or 4.7 in the Tundra. I like the nice stereo, CD etc too. I just can't use the fluff stuff, carpet etc is a pain when you work and looks like crap when it get messed up. In the "good ole days" the options for trucks was limited to Long or short bed, half or 3/4 ton. My brochure for Tundra claims 37 models to choose from. Finding the one I bought was an act of God. The only other short bed 5.7 I ever saw on the lot was really nice for town but had the sponge for dirt carpet etc. I'll tell you though, Toyota is building one heck of truck, strong, fast and versitile. I'm impressed dispite my whining.
