Quit posting pictures of your Tundra mhadden!! Every time I see them I think, "well just one little test drive to see what the 5.7L drives like won't do any harm "

What is the "S" next to your D for your gear indicator?
Whether it stands for 'Sport' or 'Serious', the S selection option allows you to shift from Drive (with its 6 speeds automatically selected) to a variation of Drive in which you can set the HIGHEST gear to be used. When first positioning the shifter to S, the tranny defaults to 4th gear; i.e., the truck will not go higher than 4th. You can then position the S setting higher or lower ... not higher than 5th, not higher than 1st, etc. It comes in handy when hauling a load like a horse trailer, ATVs, etc.

So have I sold you on one yet Did I mention that it burns rubber in 1st and second gear when the auto LSD and Trac is disabled? Oh and the ride is real smooth too, for what that's worth

I will not go to the dark side....I will stay on my current path of rightousness
Luckily my dad is getting ready to replace his 1997 F-150. He has been looking hard at the new Tundra and really likes it. I am pretty sure he is going to wait and get a 2008 model, but I'll be sure to go with him when he test drives it. I may have to start visiting my parents a little more often if he has a 5.7L sitting in the garage

Nah, the "dark side" is the Honda Ridgeline
Tacoma = Obi-wan
Tundra = Yoda

Revised Commandment: Thy shall honour thy parents, and their Tundra
That's what I wanted to do...buying a first model year anything is against my superstition and religion, but the wifey "just had to have it now" As long as my cam shaft doesn't explode, I'll be happy

I'm sure there's a way. I don't have access to wiring diagrams or component lists (anyone have access?) but I'm sure they components would be plug and play. You could always do the Jtaro mod and change the lights from orange to white. To be honest, if the gauges are white and the switches are orange, that would look wierd. It's already bothering me (not to much though) that the temp/time display is white, and the gauges and switches are orange.
