GM sucks....Whats that got to do with the 07 tundras 6 speed auto trannies failures
that are being posted ALL OVER the net? These posts are on toyota forums from
real 07 tundra owners.
Pretty sad that a new design 07 truck is having transmission failures along
with camshaft issues.
I have yet to see a failure or problem post on the new GM 6 speed!
Sour grapes from another toyota fanboy driving a camry.
Did you have your transmission replaced for the "flair" issue I see
like a RASH on many toyota forums?
Issues on a first-year model are to be expected, especially on something thats all-new like the '07 Tundra.
Mark my words, any and all issues will be fixed on the '08 model. I saw it the last time the Camry got redesigned and in '05 when the Tacoma got redesigned. They had some issues the first year, but Toyota addressed and fixed those issues for the next model year.

You joined TN yesterday, you don't know if he's a fanboy......he doesn't own a Toyota, he drives a Ford! He's 100% correct, issues on first year models are too be expected. No need to jump down someones throat....welcome to TN also, do you have a Toyota?

I'm don't usually flame people, but since you joined yesterday and you are posting this, I'm going to call you a troll. Don't go posting your negative propoganda here.
Most people know about the issues with the Tundra right now, but the problems that are occuring are less than 1% (something like .65% if I remember correctly) of the total production. Cam shaft failure has been identified and the engines produced now have the new part installed. If a camshaft does break on the new 5.7, the person gets a new engine and a 100k warranty. Transmission failure, as far as I know, is still unsolved. Since its new, it's bound to have problems; GM's 6-speed 6L80 tranny is having problems too.
First model year problems are to be expected. Believe me, when my parents worked for GM's Qaulity division, they were flying all over the place to solve problems. Most were solved in factory without the consumer knowing, while other leaked out into the market place. Toyota isn't perfect, but I bet you they are trying a helluva lot harder than the Big 2/3 right now. But depsite the problems, my Tundra is operating smoothly. There are a few things that bother me, but nothing that will effect the operation of the vehicle.

I don't know if it's so much propaganda vs the conception or misconception that Toyota is a better quality Vehicle then anything on the road. Personally I ain't buying the hype as I've owned one and also took a hit when I sold it (so much for the strong resale value).
I thought it (my 06 Corolla-S) was a OK vehicle, nothing super quality about it. It really did feel a tad cheap with the materials used. Very thin paint, carpets, thin body panels that if not careful would easily dent from simply waxing, and ton's of plastic everywhere!
The bottom line, as with any Vehicle, it's a hit or miss if you'll have problems with it.
The 07 Tundra did NOT impress me enough to dish out $40K !
I'm sure Toyota will address most issues found on the 07 with the 08's.
I hope they do something with the rear section of the Frame...because that thin/small C-Channel is a joke! Maybe they should box it like Ford.

It sure is handy to have all big 3 fans on this site. It makes it impossible to miss any potential problems. Some problems even get reposted to keep them fresh. Keep up the good work boys. Maybe when I get my Tundra in august if one of you still hasn't found anything better to with your time and happen to live near Calgary, you could hang with me for a couple of weeks doing a ride along to let me know if there are any problems first hand. That would be sweet. Maybey we could even trade off and I could dig up info on your GM, Ford or Dodge and do a ride along with you.

I'm a fan of (any) site/Forum that offers valuable information when I'm doing research for a potential new Vehicle, Boat or what have you. But one must remember everything isn't always one sided...good-bad.
I stop by here because I (did) consider the 07 Tundra for a new Truck, but research told me to wait and that may be a good thing.
The idea of a 4-cylinder Diesel in any 1/2 Ton Truck is getting my attention for 09. But I still want to know about problems/changes for the Tundra as well as the other 3-Big American Names.

Alexbay, read the posts above. Less than 1% failure at .065%. Figure it out. That is not very many failures. There is not a vehicle the big 3 make that can say that. Something just hit me. Why are we still calling them the big 3. From the last reports Toyota is the "BIG" 1
No one...yet. However the 09 F150 is slated for a nice mid power great Torque Diesel. And Dodge/Chevy will also offer a smaller Diesel for their 1/2 ton trucks.
Rumor has it Toyota will also offer a Oil Burner for it's Truck...and great news.

Thought I share something with you guys, which I found was pretty funny.
when I bought my warranty, i asked, the finance guy about warrantying the Tundra.
I say " toyota has a very good reputation, and manufacters warranty is 3year/30k miles
bumper to bumper and 6/ 60k miles on power train. Think its worth buying the
exteneded warranty. He said one thing to sell me.
