Best price??

We are looking at buying a new 2007 tundra 4x4 double cab limited with the 5.7 motor. What is the best price someone has got one of these for? The window sticker of the one we were looking at is 42,673. We were quoted the price of 39,699 without the 3000 rebate. I was thinking that we should be able to beat that some more at least by a couple thousand am I right? THanks

They are selling at invoice, without the 3k rebate (so there are people getting invoice minus the 3k rebate!)....If they won't offer it to you for invoice (or for a couple hundred over invoice), I'd take your business elsewhere.

So is a Mercedes Benz but people who can afford it will choose what they want.

It may be overpriced, but you'll get a decent return on your investment in a couple years. Harder to do that with domestics, granted diesel trucks get an okay return as well, if you can afford the outrageous $5000+ premium on those engines....

So where do you find the actual invoie prices from? A dealer tried to tell me his actual invoice was only 1500.00 less then sticker price.

The "inflated invoices" can be found by using either carsdirect.com or edmunds.com. Search the new cars and enter the options on the truck that you are looking at or want to order. Edmunds is usually a little high on the "What people are Paying" section after it gives a breakdown on price.

I agree, Edmunds TMV (what people are currently paying on your selected vehicle) prices are way over stated.

Example: I priced a Crew Tundra Limited, sticker, $44,360. Invoice, $40,010. TMV, $42,421. MINUS $3K rebate, new TMV, $39,421. If dealers are taking invoice minus rebate the TMV should be, $37,000. (invoice $0,010-$3,000) The $2,400 ($37,000-$39,421) differential here isn't chump change. So don't give much credence to Edmunds TMV stuff. Most dealers will be glad to sell their vehicles at invoice minus rebates. Unless you're talking some exotic/high roller stuff.
