Mine came on right before E. I want to say it's a 26 gallon but not sure.

When the light comes on in a toyota vehicle there is generally 2 gallons approx. left. This varies per vehicle.

The standard is a 22 gallon tank. I believe you need to have the long bed for the 26 gallon tank.

Yes, it's a 26 gallon tank. Mine has been coming on when theres around 21 gallons left in the tank. A lot of people are pissed off about it thinking its a Tundra flaw, but all newer cars/trucks are like this...

All new 2007+ Tundra's have a 26.4 gallon tank. There are no 22 gal tanks here, not even on the V6's.

according to my owners manual there are 22 gallon tanks, and mine has never taken even close to 22 to fill from empty.

Page 572 of your owners manuel: 26.4 / 22.

You tell me how else I'm suppose to say it. Way way way down at the bottom of 1/4 right before the E. Just put it like this...when you get to 1/4 start thinking of putting gas in and you'll be ok. Why do you have to wait till the light comes on???

22 means imperial gallons (used in Canada and a few other places). There's 1.2 gallons in an imperial gallon, therefore 26.4/1.2=22.

That's a new one to me.

It still doesn't answer why my trip computer says I have a couple miles till empty, and it barely will take 21 gallons to fill.

Toyota does this to keep Dipshits from running out of gas so often. I filled up from 3/8 tank today, and only put 13.9 gallons in. Trip odo showed 269.7 miles, for a avg of 19.4 mpg. About 85 miles was in city traffic, all with max a/c on. Not bad for 1000 miles.

I put the first full tank of gas in my truck yesterday. The low fuel warning light was on, the the display said its low fuel range warning. Truck took 19 gals, which means it had 7.5 gals left. Seems kinda high for the fuel light to go on to me, but now I know I still have a few miles to drive...
