07 Tundra engine noise

i have an 07 tundra with a 5.7 engine. The engine makes a rattling noise most all the time. Is this normal? It almost sounds like a diesel. thx dddave

Try 2 things (together or separately): higher octane fuel and synthetic oil.

Take it back to the dealer and see what they say, it's under warranty, right? Make sure the tech sits in with you and go for a drive, so as to show the tech the exact noise you're talking about. Hope you get it resolved soon.

Mine has a bit of a diesel sound to it also. I read in the manual that some noise from the engine is normal. Can't remember which page, but look through there, you'll find it.
