bump..

Wonder why toyota would make the fog lights only work when headlights are on,
rather than the parking lights..

Seems like it would work the same way the Taco guys do it. I have two guys here in town that did the Fog Lamp mod to their Tacoma's. Check the Tacoma Forum, Those guys have a step by step mod to do it. If you can't find it, PM me and I'll get the guys here to write it down and I'll email it to you.

I'm toying with the idea of letting them do mine. They did their Taco's in less than 10 minutes. I'll see what he says when he gets back in town. If they do it, I'll take pictures and do a write up..

I'm lookin into getting a SR5 CrewMax. Can the dealer install fog lights(OEM)?
I remember when the Sequoia came out in 2001, even the dealer could not install the fogs since Toyota did not install the harness behind the plastic dummy covers.

Yes, your dealer can install them with very little time. The only downside is that the parts are expensive, but they may cut you a deal if you have them thrown in as a deal breaker. I was quoted just shy of $500 for the parts from Kalamazoo Toyota (who makes the Tacoma fog lamp kit). The Tundra is prewired for the fogs, its just a matter of finding the wires and removing the steering wheel to install the new switch/stalk.

You will need the switch/stalk, relay, and fog lights. I still don't understand why they didn't make it a stand alone option. We were telling everyone nearly $749 for Fog Light install on the '06 Tundras. I really need to find out exact cost.
