Slammed brake sound?

So I had to slam by brakes this morning, and the strangest noise came from under the front. Sounded kinda like metal vibrating or gears stripping. I dont think it was actually gears stripping, but thats what the sound was like. Was this just the anti-lock? If it was I've never heard anti-lock brakes sound like that? Anyone here this before?

Probably just the ABS kicking in. Some vehicles are louder than others, just depends on the setup but its nothing to worry about.

Definitely the ABS you heard. My 07 Tacoma makes a "BUUUZZZZ" sound when the ABS kicks in.

Well thats good to know. I've never owned a vehicle with ABS, but I have driven many with ABS, and I've never heard it sound like this...
