Canada DRL Install on 07 Tundra

Have bought a 2007 Tundra double cab from Seattle and need to install drl's to Canadian standards.
Anybody done their own or is this something to leave to a shop?
Local Toyota dealer hasn't done this installation on a Tundra yet leaving Cdn Tire as my only option - not my fav mechanic shop.
Thanks

Note, I have since learned that the American running lights on the Tundra, using the amber turn signals, are legal for use as drl's in Canada.

No, definately install it yourself. I haven't heard nice things about that Canadian Tire place. Total crap that the government contracts them to do half-assed work on your car/truck.

You can buy the parts and put them in yourself, although the Toyota dealerships will tell you otherwise. I believe the parts are the same as the Tacoma and 4Runner, but I would double check. I don't want to take out my fuse panel, but I'll look and see if they are indeed the same parts.

So how did it work out price wise in comparison the the local price. Was it really worth it? Did you buy new? Did you have any problems delays bringing it in?

I am also looking to install DRL on my new 07 Reg Cab Tundra. importing the truck was no problem, I even got the $3000 cash back offer, I saved $8000 + on my truck.
I would like to know if the install is the same as the Tacoma also?

Does Toyota screw you guys on warranty coverage when you self-import? I've heard that many manufacturers do.

Nope, it's not the same as the Tacoma, unfortunately. It involves buying a blinker box like the Taco, but then there is a lot of confusion of how to activate it...you may need to consult your local stealership. If I find out any more information, I'll pass it along.

It does involve purchasing the DRL flasher relay, but I have not been able to get any more additional information on how to activate them. The DRL relay alone does not do it. I received an email from Toyota that stated that the dealerships do not have install kits yet. The relay dealer cost is 42. and they sell from about 52-58.00.

DRL's

I would be curious to know what was required to get the DRL's installed, I am in the same boat as you, I know it is about a $50 option in the states.

Thanks
