Your dreaming! I wish there was, though

I confirmed with the parts guy at the dealership that all the new Toyota's are going to this cartridge BS, so there probably won't be a redesign, either.

LOL the first time I did this truck at work it took me 17min because I couldnt' get the cover to go back on. Now I just let it hang and drain off the oil in the cartridge then I pull the whole assembly off and put the new one on and zip zip finito. Wish we weren't going ot cartridge, slows things down a bit.

I wouldn't mind the cartridge as much if it was top mounted like the FJ, BMW, etc.

It was purposely put there to make you guys come to the dealership.

Just like no more dipsticks, its so you come back to the dealer

Even when I get my 135i, I'll still do all the oil changes myself. I'll only bring it back for things I'm either a. too lazy to change or 2. needs repair and is covered under the BMW maintenance

If it is top mounted on the FJ, then I'm sure someone could adapt that relocation system to the Tundra.

Seems like theres a lot of BMW fans here! Glad to be in good company.

I'm picking up a Tundra hopefully in the next 10 days to tow my M3 track car.

Cartridge oil filters rock on BMWs. Right on top, smack dab in the middle.

I know, BMW made it easy. I can't wait for mine! The Tundra has to be difficult...on the flipside and hidden somewhere

I think I'm the opposite of you guys. I never stop working on my BMW and am looking forward to getting the Tundra so I never have to work on it. Dealer regular maintenance is going to be niiiiiiice for awhile.
