No lights on warning

hey is it just me or is anybody bothered by the fact that they didn't include the feature to chime, buzz or whatever when you turn the key off and the lights are still on. heck for that matter we've had three camry's and all of them automatically turn off the headlights when the key if off and the drivers door is opened. anybody know why toyota didn't include this feature on the tundra crewmax sr5. i looked at a crew max limited today and it was the same.

Most new Toyota's no longer feature the chime when you leave the lights on due to the fact that they will automatically turn off after 30 seconds. My wife's '06 RAV4 does the same thing and had me concenened as well until I figured this out.

Ditto. The Tundra and Tacoma (and maybe other Toyotas?) turn off the headlamps either when a. youopen the door or b. after 30-60 seconds. I have to leave them on because my wife can't remember to turn them on.

wow! i'm the idiot here. all i had to do was read the owners manual. and you both are correct the parking lights will go off instantly when the key is off and the door is opened. the headlights will turn off in 30 seconds after you get out of the car. and there is a way of changing the program so that they stay on for 60 seconds. well i'm glad that's over.
