I was told by the dealer that they can only preference an order and that it is not guaranteed. They seem to go out of their way to find an already made model. I know ford and chevy are glad to build it just like you want it.

We were told the same thing with the FJ we bought. We ended up trading it in 8 mos later for a Tundra.

Here is how you get the model you want with options...

Go into the dealer and find out what is in "Freight" mode for the Tundra. The will pull up a PDF file of all the Tundra models (any Toyota Model actually) en route to all the dealerships in your area. Every model coming into port has the basic package "A". They add the options/package afterwards.

A good sales person will know how to work it. Others just want to sell what is in stock.

They did show me what is being built and sent to my area.
the problem is they say that is how I can get it. Only that way!
I know this is crap...I'm giving a couple days to see what happens.
I also didn't rush to get the incentives. Waiting to see what is next.
Has anyone got a cm 5.7 sr5 with the jbl system?

New here read a lot. Thanks for the input.

I'd go to the sales manager. We went to two dealers and the 2nd one knew what I was talking about. However, I finally had to ask the sale manager who their top sales guro was and how we could get the options we wanted. I test drove the DB SR5 TRD with the JBL. However, I didn't turn the system on. I usually get a custom system installed afterwards and always get the cheapest system they have. We were told the incentives end on the 4th as I originally wanted the white with black interior and they didn't have one on the lot. But once we saw the Nautica Blue we really liked how the color looked in the day and at night almost looks black.

Now the mods begin...LOL It's our shop truck so all the mods I can write off as a business expense.

Did they take a deposit? They are looking at the current production list.

yeah 500, dude said he wouldn't hold it either and I got him to put it in writing. He knows they will still sell the truck.
It was my understanding this would be new production, but I'm not in TX so how can you really tell.....I will let you know how it goes

Sounds like they treated you fairly well. Our sales guy used the line "your beating me up on price" line. I responded...just like you low balled me on my trade-in and wouldn't budge on the MSRP on the FJ...LOL We ended up getting the deal we wanted. We bought an FJ from the same dealer and they wouldn't budge on the price because they couldn't keep them on the lot. Now, the lot is full. They also had 12 Tundras in stock. Here is a pic of our new ride outside of my shop.
