reverse wire behind radio

after disconnecting and pulling out factory radio, look to the back right of cavity the radio came out of...there is a grey plug with a grey cap taped (with electrical tape) to the bundle of wires that run along the back of the dash. in that plug you will find the reverse wire. the wire is the very thin purple wire located in one of the first holes of that plug.

*please test all wiring before connecting. not responsible or liable for any mishaps in your install

a lot of people are installing aftermarket headunits with backup camera options and requires hooking up a "reverse light" wire to the headunit.

to be sure, has anyone else used this wire or confirm this is the right wire?

I'm not sure about the reverse wire being there..I know for the fact that the reverse wire is located up on top where the sunglass holder is..I have BU camera (stock). Stock HU doesn't req backup camera input so I doubt it's there..but I may be wrong.

You can test it with a multi meter & put your car in reverse (step on brake) and check it out to be sure.

Confirmed it tonight. The small purple wire in the taped up harness behind the radio is the reverse wire. Just installed a Pioneer D3 w/pioneer back-up camera.

Thank you cmag1219
