Not Very Happy w/ my Crewmax

I don't want to sound like sour apples but I am not very happy with my Crewmax. I love the truck with the power and the ride but I got one of the first ones out. The build date was March. So far the transmission went out at 3K miles and the driveshaft clunked so bad. They fixed all that. The engine sounds like a diesel for the first 10 miles and it's summer here. I can just imagine what it will be in the winter. but now the drivers seat is separating at the seams. It's leather and all the seams are coming apart. I know they will fix it but I'm getting tired of driving their loaner and explaining to my friends why I don't have my truck. I just wanted to vent a little but I should have known not to buy one of the first ones out.

This is the first I have read about any seat issues, but the tranny and driveshaft issues are fairly prevalent on the TS forums.

Have had my Crewmax for a week now. No problems at all and hope it stays that way. My build date is 08/07 so I hope Toyota has some of the bugs worked out since you bought yours. Personally I would try and get Toyota to give you an brand new Crewmax. To spend that kind of money and have the problems you've had is not right. I can understand have some minor issues but not with the transmission. GOOD LUCK

that is too bad, sounds like you just got a bad apple. Hopefully the dealer in your area will do the right thing and start from scratch

buckstom - Who did you buy yours from in SC? I actually drove from KY to SC to buy my Crewmax. I found the best deal in Asheville SC.

Got a April 2007 build and have a slight clunk, but running great. It's a bummer you've had those problems; I hope Toyota gave you an extended warranty. Toyota is having gorwing pains, but they should be getting better. I still think the qaulity is on the upper half of the 1/2 ton truck spectrum.

Does anyone know the sales figures as of this month of how many 07+ Tundra's have been sold? I think they are approaching the 100k mark...well over what the Gen1 Tundra did in a year.

I got mine in Asheville

I got mine in Asheville too. I took mine in today and they are going to order a new seat bottom. Just waiting for the next problem to crop up.

Well, they better hire a "Hacker" to shut down TundraSolutions.com then.

No kidding! I get sick of the bitching over there...I wouldn't mind reading the "my sh*t broke" threads if people weren't overreacting and blowing things out of proportion

Competeing auto forums are irrelevent. TS has members (and here of course) who OWN Tundras and complain about them, sometimes rightfully so....the truth hurts.
