Need Help Searching Southeast Inventory

Anybody figured out a way to determine in advance to which dealer a truck in the Southeast inventory is headed?

I keep finding a few 2007's I'd like available in 2 weeks or so, but no dealers I contact will do anything to try to secure them in advance (it's like dealing with a 2 year child who does not listen - "I DO NOT WANT THAT TRUCK ON YOUR LOT!").

Is there any way to figure out where one is headed before it arrives? If not, any way to figure out which dealer it is at once it arrives, without having to search each individual dealers website in the entire Southeast (an impossible task)?

Any help is appreciated.

Ask for Anthony and let him know that a fella from white springs fl, gave you the contact info. Anthony is management, not a salesman. Tell him what your looking for. If you have it picked out, give him the VIN so he can locate it.

I would only ask in doing so, your a serious buyer. If you are do your research and stick with your knowledge, this will keep the process easier to stomach. Also don't say anything, IF YOU BUY, about the 399.95 dealer fee. They will drop it once you start to sign and then tell them to drop it or you don't buy.

I've puchased 4 vehicles from them in a yr and half. Very easy to deal with. I've always done the internet game with atleast 3 dealers to get the best price. Always end up at this dealer.

Good luck.

Bongo - Have you checked with Jim Barkley in Asheville NC? They have over 100 Tundra's allocated to them over the 2-3 weeks. I bought a Crewmax from them about 3 weeks ago. Best car buying experience I have ever had. They found a truck equipped the way I wanted. Good Luck

One thing the southeast dealers have is the port in jacksonville. Hundreds upon hundreds of vehicles are stored at the port. So about anything you may want, they can get from the port. Don't let them say they can't, they can. If a vehicle is received from the port, the dealer has no time to apply dealer addons.

Unhappy Blank VIN #

Tried Jim Barkley and they didn't seem interested in trying to procure a particular truck for me.

Can anybody help me understand the following:

So, if I do a search on a particular dealer's website, and it has an available date two weeks away for a vehicle in the Southeast Inventory (i.e., not in the particular dealer's inventory), and a VIN # like:

VIN:XXXXXXXXXXX0293__ __ (I have deleted the last two numbers intentionally)

. . . does that mean that it is in Jacksonville waiting to be assigned to a dealer, or is it already assigned and you have to figure out to which dealer? I notice that trucks which won't be available until 2 weeks from now, but are already assigned to a dealer, already have a full VIN number (no XXXX's).

Anybody understand the system fully?

After speaking with a freiend at the dealer, he said that when its stating available say 09/29/07, that means that particular dealer can get that vehicle, and more than likey it is in storage at the port. This same vehicle should come up on other dealers sites upon a search being done. All should show a avaiable date since its not in their inventory yet. Hope that helps.

Depending on the options you want, almost any dealer would place addons to it to bring the package up to your needs. As long as your serious and be perpared to sign before they do the addons. Kinda like the ole saying, money talks and bull crapp walks.

I wouldn't try and read to much into trying to figure out the vehicles from the sites. They have their way and for the most part most of us with inside info probably can't find out but about 30% of it.

Hope that helps.
