Enable ALL NAV functions all the time, without firmware mod

I was inspired by the great info found on this forum and many similar forums. I did the 5.1 firmware mod and just couldn't live with the loss of some functionality. So I recently created a small device from $15 worth of parts that enables ALL of the factory NAV functions even while the vehicle is in motion, with any firmware at all. You don't need to make the 5.1 disc, it will work with 6.1 (and probably all future versions) just fine. It will most likely work on a lot of other vehicles and NAV units too. You can read all the details on my mod site here: WileETundra's mod site

Hope this is helpful to some of you. Many people have asked for a solution so I am sharing. Thanks to all of you for sharing too. Let the modding begin...

Welcome to TN

I saw you did this over at TundraSolutions. If I had the nav, I'd be all over this. Hopefully you can share more of your knowledge here...TS doesn't seem to appreciate it as much!

Yeah, TS has been a great forum with lots of good members, however the latest change where they took away all the TSB and other files without notice has me concerned. They first tried to make it sound like a file reorg, then like a function ehancement, then when it became clear that the valuable content was removed they just clammed up and closed the thread without explanation. If a resolution isn't found soon I will be taking my content to other forums like this one. I also believe they owe the paid members an apology for handling the issue so poorly. So I will wait another week or so but in the interim I am preparing to jump to other forums. This one has some good people and valuable posts on it so I plan to check it periodically anyway.

I definately agree with you there, good information over there, but shady management, especially for the paying subscribers. Look forward to seeing you more on the board!
