UK engine specs

I've heard that Toyota bought the Chevy 350 to put in the Tundra. I had a friend of mine, who is a big Chevy, guy look at it and he says because it has the VVT and quad cams it is an LS6 like in the '06 Z06. Has anyone else heard this?

I think your friend is Either that or he's smoking some really really good stuff

EDIT: The LS6 does not have VVT nor quad cams. It's an OHV pushrod small-block. And btw the '06 Z06 has the LS7 engine (7.0L).

I didn't know, I'm not too much of a gear head, car wise. Airplanes I got down! So is the engine a Chevy remake or not?

Nope, it be Toyota's

It's in its third generation, but has only been around since 2006 (well, in vehicles that is). The other 2 were in Lexus's with direct injection.

I think this is based on an old rumor about the T-100 and the upcoming Tundra to replace it. There was a lot of talk in the automotive press back then about Toyota making a deal with GM for V-8's to get the tow rating up quickly, without developing a new engine. Obviously, it ultimately didn't happen that way.
