there really aren't pictures because the carrier bearing is so far up under the truck it is hard to see when on the ground. the instructions that come with the mcgaughys kit are pretty good, but they do leave out some important steps and tell the wrong steps to do at a certain time. easiest way to explain it would be after the rear kit is intalled, there is a large silver collar between the two driveshafts. all you do is loosen the collar a tad bit and the drive shaft moves forward about an inch and a half. the flip kit for the back relocates the driveshaft forward about 3/4 of an inch so the driveshaft has to be moved also. it is obvious when you drive the truck after lowering, about 30-40 mph there is a pretty bad vibration in the back end due the the carrier bearing being in a bind. good thing about the drop kit is that it has pretty much eliminated the bed bounce, braking is much more controllable, and handling is somewhat better than factory. need to get rid of the stock steelies and handling should jump a good bit more.

so your telling me to just loosen the two bolts and let it move forward a bit.. also should i do this with 4 wheels on the ground or lifted? i have it on a 4 point lift right now and it will be like 2 weeks before the full driveshaft assy comes in
i did it with 4 wheels off the ground on a rack. you don't actually move anything yourself, just loosen it and the driveshaft moves forward by itself, then tighten back up what kind of driveshaft you waiting on? your truck lowered?

well im a certified toyota tech and was giving a lowered tundra we had on the lot with only 47 miles on it.. drove it around and it makes a grinding sound.. found out it was the carrier bearing ... didnt want to tear it all apart.. so i order a new one.. since its such a new truck.. its gonna take 2-3 weeks maybe longer to get one..
also when u said loosen it does this mean the two bolts for the center where the carrier bearings at?
again thanks for the help.. i dont like messing with aftermarket stuff.. just trade in doing OEM stuff. but since we have a whole line of lifted and lowered trucks .. gonna have to learn now.. also im not a truck guy.. more of a car guy so i know more about cars than modding trucks
I've only had the radio problem (with it intermittently not working and funky display symbols) that was replaced under warranty. Other than that...a few weird clunks but have been been in different places and unable to be found.

The driveshaft center bearing issue brings up an interesting point. If the selling dealer modifies the truck, does Toyota have to honor the warranty, or just the selling dealer? It seems that modifications like lowering or jacking up would void the Toyota warranty.
Either way, it seems like Toyota's carrier bearings (in both Tundra and Tacoma) are shit. I've never liked them period...if you look at box trucks (because you can see them a lot easier) or certain semi rigs, you'll see that all their carriers are usually shot as well, but since its so damn big, you don't feel the vibration. All of the International trucks I drove had bad carriers...I'd just prefer a long ass driveshaft, even in my off-road limo
