CrewMax vs DC Performance

I test-drove both the CrewMax and the Double Cab a decent amount (each about 100 miles). Did anyone notice a difference in performance between the CrewMax and the Double Cab? I think there SHOULD be one, since the CrewMax is heavier, but just curious if anyone else could feel it. Could be the CrewMax I was driving was modifying the shift points, but it just didn't feel as strong as the doublecab did. Felt like a big difference to me, wondering if anyone else could feel it. Thanks.

Ditto, although I did get a 20 mile one. I didn't get a chance to feel the difference, I had my mind set on a CrewMax come hell or high water...I'm sure any difference is negligible, though.

I went with a sliver CrewMax SR5, apparently the last one built like that in silver in the 4 state area. Sticker was just under $39k, I got it for a little over $35k before cash back. The cash back offers up here (Baltimore) were not as good as those offered at Jim Barkley, but then again, I didn't have to drive to North Carolina to pick it up! The dealership (Jerry's) I got it from was extremely patient, and while he may not have offered me the absolute lowest price in the area, he did give me the highest offer on my trade, and the service was great. No empty promises, and he got the truck...he also let me test drive two different trucks each for a couple days. Who else is going to do that?!?! Love the truck...

You may or may not be able to "feel" a difference, but both models have different curb weights. I can't remember off the top of my head, but it may be 150-250lbs. A general rule of thumb in drag racing is for every 100lbs you lose 1/10th of a second in the 1/4 mile. So, in all likelihood you'd see a Crew Max run .15-.25 seconds slower than a DC.

As for street performance (and just cruising around), my guess is the difference would be hardly noticeable. Plus, attempting to judge performance based on "feel" is very subjective. Example - a good friend of mine has a modified Powerstroke. When riding in it, it does not feel fast at all. However, when I raced him in my previous truck (which would put you back in the seat off the line), he would beat me by 3-4 truck lengths up to 80 mph. That's when I realized that by judging performance by "feel" is misleading lol.
