Hello,
I am new to this forum and apologize if this question has been asked already. I did a search and turned up nothing on this subject.
Any way, I am the proud owner of a brand spanky new 07 Tundra double cab
4 wheeler. Imagine my surprise when I went to buy snow tires for this truck and found out that NO manufacturer makes snow tires for this truck. The tires are 255/70R18 or optional 275/65R18. Ford uses this size also.
I have been in contact with Toyota customer service, who claimed to be as surprised as myself about this , but offered no help and would not authorise any substitute. The local Toyota guy called his contacts who told him that Bridgestone might make a snow tire in this size sometime in the future. I am now facing either garaging the truck all winter, or buying a set of the older standard M+S tire(which I don't want). Anyone run into this problem and found a cure?
Thanks,
Tom
The Bridgestone Dueller A/T Revo is available in 275/65, it is an awesome tire. Excellent on ice/snow. I ran a set on my last Tacoma they were incredible.
I went with 265/70-18 Bridgestone Blizzak's for my 2007 Tundra, they are approximately 4/10" of an inch larger in diameter than the stock tires and so far seem to provide very good traction, however we really haven't had too much ice and snow on the roads yet.

And as always, I always recommend Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor's. They proved themselves last winter when we had 3 feet of snow. I bought them for my Tundra as well..excellent overall traction, especially in snow and wet conditions. They wear like iron and have all season abilities (and are marked for extreme snow duty)...can't beat it!
That Taco doing what it did flawlessly!

Thanks Dana and Nick,
I really don't want off road tires though. I did look at the Blizzacs and was going to buy a set, but Toyota customer service said not to do it. They insist on same size replacements. Even though they supplied a tire you can't buy same size repacements in winter tires for. I may wind up buying the Blizzacs any way, whats the worse thing Toyota can do. Void my warranty. Yikes!
Sorry , I just saw the post for the Goodyear tires. Goodyears web page only shows one 18 inch tire in that series, but it's nowhere near the right size. Corporate Toyota was so adamant about using only a same size replacement I'm reluctant to do otherwise. I doubt a smalll change in size would hurt, but Toyota customer service seems to be in cover your ass mode.
Thanks,
Tom
I have the 275/65's and they are the exact replacement for my stock tires. I wouldn't worry about getting a larger tire size...Toyota would have to prove that larger tires caused any damaged, if anything came of it. You must have the 18" steelies or the TRD package. I have the regular aluminum wheels.

Try an internet search. I found several sites with 255/70R18 tires listed. Just ordered 4 Bridgestone Dueler A/T tires for my Tundra. Looks like a fairly aggresive winter tread. UPS delivered the tires a couple days ago. I think the web site is performancetire.com. I am at work now and don't have the exact company name.
