2008 VS 2007 - Model Year running changes.

I am considering a new tundra truck, yes, even after reading all the information on the forums unless someone can discourage me not too.

My questions: Is it possible to determine changes made from model year 2007 to 2008? I know there are 2007s still available on the auto lots with rebates however if I can avoid 'new model challenges' with running changes on 2008 it may be worth the extra money.

Any help would be appreciated.

Wait till late 08 if you can

You may be able to avoid carryover problems if you get an 08 with build date in the year 08. Tranny issues are being corrected and rumor has it tailgates will be reinforced. Heck maybe the 5.7 will lose its diesel noise on startup by then as well.

Besides the addition of "Tundra Grade" trim, I think some equipment that was optional is now standard (like the cold kit on SR5 and Limited's, sonar is standard on limiteds now, and 6-disc changer as well as mudgards are all standard on both SR5 and Limited.

Of course, with any manufacturer, problems usually go down after a model has been out. I think the transmission issue is identified and fixed on all new Tundra's, and I think the tailgate issue is still unknown. I don't think Toyota will address it until a class-action suit is announced.

With that kind of negativity about USA I'm wondering why you live here...maybe try Japan or Korea.
