Did you have trouble finding the combination of options you wanted?
I seem to be finding that the majority of the leftover '07s have options that evidently didn't move (like $2500 20" rims) and that the '08s all seem to be the Limiteds.
For the options I want I should be able to find a truck for $35k or less, but what I want doesn't appear to be out there.
Did you find exactly what you wanted, or were you forced to take/pay for options that you didn't want?
I bought on October 31st. Dealers were pretty well incented to get rid of inventory, I think. The dealer i worked with was very helpful in helping me get what i wanted. He found the truck in Arlington, VA (I'm in Baltimore) and then we added the options i wanted. Nothing crazy...the aluminum running boards and the bedliner and deck rail combo, but they were priced at factory, not retail. So, if you find a dealer that is willing to work a little, you'll get what you wanted. The one thing i had to compromise on was color. i wanted slate, none available (in SR5 Crewmax 4wd with 5.7 with sunroof...not too picky, right??) so i got silver sky metallic. Which, actually, I love now.
He made some money, but I got what i wanted, too. Everyone wins.
Your best bet is to continue searching. I've seen a lot of nice Tundra's that have options. However, as you mentioned, sometimes one option brings another. However, my Tundra CM only had a bucket seat and cold kit option, and suprisingly no JBL or TRD, which is becoming popular and more rampant. Just keep looking or do what daroli did and contact a dealer and have them search for you. Just make sure they don't screw you in the process. Usually they are less inclined to "cut you a deal" if you are being picky.

Toyota builds certain option combinations for each market (NW, SE, etc.). Unless you factory order, you cant get exactly what you want. Fortunately, since Toyota certifies all for 50-state emissions, cross-border dealer trades are possible, not so with the "Big 2.5".
Here's a new one, try to find a regular cab with the navigation. Toyota.com says it's an option, but I can't find a single one.
It does, but they don't offer that option at all from what I understand. I think a guy over at TS tried ordering one that way and was denied. Toyota covers their ass by saying "options can change without notice"
