20" vs. 18" spare...

My "Texas Edition" Tundra came with optional 20 inch wheels. However, the spare is a steel 18 inch wheel. When questioned about this, the dealer stated, "no problem, it's supposed to be used as a temporary tire." I realize this, but I'm concerned that if I have to use it one day involving a long drive from a remote location, that it will play hell with the limited slip differential if I have to use it at the rear.

Any opinions here???

lol.. not if the overall diameter is the same as the 20inch tire..

and you if u get a flat in the rear and still worried about it.. just rotate one of the fronts to the rear..and spare in the front

or turn your traction control off

There was a guy over at TS that just had a problem with this, but his was related to the 4 new tires he just put on. One of the tires was the wrong size (due to the tire shops negligence). It was over an 1" difference in diameter. As long as you stay with stock sizes, you should be fine. However, those people who are going aftermarket rims/tires, should be aware of this issue, especially if they have a flat. Shutting off the trac control will help the trac from engaging, but your speed sensors on your ABS are going to be going nuts!
