Heated Mirror to Tow Mirror

I purchased a 2007 Tundra Crewmax SR5. It came with Heated Mirrors. I now need Tow Mirrors and was wondering if anyone has been able to change them over. Any suggestions?

As long as you have heated mirrors, whether on an SR5 or Limited, you can switch over to the tow mirrors without any problems and keep all of your settings. If you have a Limited trim model with power self-folding mirrors, then you won't have the self-folding option anymore.

That is great news. Has anyone actually made this change, is it something I can do myself? Were there any surprises?

You can do it yourself, its pretty simple, and there have been quite a few people who have done it. You remove the little triangle trim and it hides 3 bolts that hold the mirror in. remove the bolts, undo the harness and pull out the mirror. Replace with new mirror and install in reverse order

power mirrors will still work.. they plug right in..
from me doing a few.. once you take the 3 bolts off.. theres still a clip you have to press to get the mirror out.. it can be a pain.. but i dont see why its need so i just rip and tear.. most of the time.. the clip wont break but its only there when you remove the 3 bolts so the mirror dont fall down.. imo its not needed so dont worry bout breaking the clip
