Aux input to stereo

I am considering the purchase of a 2007 or 2008 Tundra. I have driven a Limited 4x4 Double cab and loved it. I was not confident in the answer to one question I posed to the dealer, and I was hoping that someone here can help me out.

I presently own a 2004 Titan with an aux input into the stereo. However, the input is not amplified. If I plug in an MP3 player, even with the volume at max on the player and stereo, the sound is very faint. I had to purchase a small battery powered amp to boost the sound level.

Is the input jack on the Tundra the same way, or does the input go through the amp in the stereo?

I am sure this will be the first of several questions...

Thanks,

KL

To be honest I'm not sure. But I know I have my Sirius radio plugged into the AUX input and I have the volume on 20-25 to listen. The radio is even worse, with the volume setting on 30-40, depending on the road surface. I do, however, have the non-JBL single CD radio, so I don't have an amp. Don't let one small thing discourage you, though...its still a great truck.

My Nissan aux input works great. I have seen posts of similar problems though at ClubTitan.org and/or ClubArmada.com.

I have 3 totally different MP3 players (ipod video, and 2 cheapo units) in my household and they all work well.

I would take your current audio cable and your MP3 player and sit in a Tundra and test it out.

I use my iPod all the time in the aux stereo jack. It sounds great so don't worry about the amplify issue you will not have it with your MP3 player at all. So go buy your Tundra and crank the stereo with your MP3 it will rock.

this is a non issue. mp3 players work excellent in the aux. note you should make sure the volume is turned up on whatever type of mp3 player you are using.

My new 08 Tundra comes in at the begining of April. In regards to the Aux jack, where do I get a cable to go from the iPod to the Aux jack on the truck? Is it just a regular 1/8 Mini to 1/8 Mini?
