2007 Tundra Wiper Blades

This is borderline embarrassing. I never thought I would be perplexed by wiper blades, but I am. I've got a 2007 Tundra new in June, great truck, and now its time to change the wiper blades since the South Florida sun eats anything soft rubber in a few months.

I've looked at these things for [exaggerating] hours, and can't figure how to slide off the wiper blades. I'm sure its easy but I'm afraid of snapping a clip that I shouldn't have touched. Are refills available or do I need to buy a whole new arm? Are the blades dealer-only or can I get them at an auto parts retailer? Any advice?

Thanks!

Supposedly they are "refillable" but I've had others tell me they are not. Depending on what part of June you bought it, you might be able to claim the 6 month warranty on the wiperblades..I'd check Monday first thing.

Fortunately, I haven't had a problem with mine (I bought mine in June as well), but others haven't been so fortunate. Remember, though, blades usually only last 6-12months, depending on use and climate. I had a set of Bosch Icons last me 2 years, though...

Where did you hear about a six month warranty? The manual states that wiper blades aren't covered under warranty. Is the 6 month warranty a dealer-specific thing or maybe only in your state?

Apparently its an "inside" thing, but there have been a few people now that have had them replaced under warranty...

Stopped by the dealer today and was told by one of the Service Advisors that the wiper blades are covered under a 1-year/12,000 mi warranty. At $58 a pop, I'll be using that warranty service annually....

USA Old thread...never ending topic

I tried something new - they're called Trico Tech Beam Blades (I guess they came out in oct or nov 09) and they fit the Toyota Tundra. I've been a Trico NeoForm guy for a while, but I tried the new Techs because they have a new mounting system that allows the wiper arm to sit slightly lower than in the past. The Techs are beefy as hell and look great with the new, lower side mount. By the way - they came with complete removal and installation instructions - very easy. Got them online. As far as replacing the entire wiper vs. swapping out the rubber blade refills... I change the entire wiper because of the abuse the ice and snow put them through - I figure better safe than sorry (plus much less hassel than dealing with those rubber blade refills).
