Can you get a long bed 4x4 Tundra?

Or is this simply not an option with the Tundra? If this is not possible, the Tundra is a waste of my time.

You can get a reg cab with the eight foot bed and a DC with the eight....no CrewMax long bed.

Dealers lie in order to sell you what they have in stock. On the 1st gen Tundra, I wanted the regular cab (8 foot bed) in a 4x4 and one dealer told me that Toyota did not sell them in California. Since Toyota, unlike the others, makes everything 50-state emissions compliant, that was total BS. I called another dealer and they had several in stock.

But the other poster is right. Tundra is not yet a full line of trucks (and and may never be), so there is not a variety of different wheelbases that would allow for different combinations of bed and cab sizes.

There's only 3 total frame lengths on the Tundra, none of which would support a CM long bed but to Answer the question, Yes the DC and the RC are available in 4WD and with long beds.

They just don't offer the configuration I want. I'll either go with a Ford, Chevy or Dodge because I can get what I want. The only way to get a 4x4 is to get a Tundra(no SR5, no Limited). You stuck with the bottom of the barrel and can not add the good stuff like the navigation system or leather seats. Pretty weak.

Probably why I don't see very many of these "trucks" on the road.

I'm sorry but you need to do a substantial amount more research before saying something like this. Thats the most absurd thing I've ever heard.

What are you trying to find. It almost sounds like you're trying to find things to complain about just to start an argument on this forum. Here at my dealership, good luck finding a 4x2 Tundra anywhere. You need to find another dealership if you can't get a 4x4 from the one you're at now.

You got to think like this; Toyota has researched well, Contractors are cheap I’m one so I know we know where to put our money so we make $$$. We don’t buy work trucks in “Limited” configurations. Toyota knows this hence why there is no limited/ long bed etc.. shooting in the dark I would say 5% of new Tundra buyers opt for a longed anyway. Also I can’t recall the last Ford F-150 I had seen in a Limited/ Harley Davidson/ Rouch/ with a longbed, I believe the only way to get that is in XLT form equivalent to the Tundra SR5. Same for Chevy, there is no LTZ package with a longbed. You want it set up like that, buy the SR5 and get a TomTom like I have works better than factory NAV, I can take it out of the truck and use it in my Porsche or wife’s car. Leather can be added aftermarket and better than the factory stuff, search in the clasiffied section for “limited wheels” am I missing anything else? Oh sunroof is a pretty easy aftermarket add on. Then pay $20 to get the coveted “limited” sticker your done.

Jason,

You are a dedicated professional at a dealership in a mid-sized metro area. Here in the Southern California market, the car business is cutthroat and Toyota dealers are nothing special. The whole experience is no different than at a Ford or Chevy store. Sales people are mostly inexperienced and dont last long, either move from dealer to dealer, brand to brand or get out quickly. The customer way too often knows more about the product. The "deal" is everything to the "sales manager". I've learned the hard way to spot these places just by driving past. They are the ones with several young men in cheap suits hanging around at the entrance to the showroom.

Getting straight answers about model and option availability can be difficult.

Trust me, I totally understand what you said about your dealer's market area. What gets me is that this guy can get on toyota's website and build his truck(sort of), but can build it enough to see that what he's saying doesnt' have any merritt.

^^^Thats just plain not true and thats what I was refering to. I'm a parts salesman, not a car salesman and still know enough to be able to say that this statement isn't true.
