Rust on the rear diff

Hi folks

Some parts of my rear diff are showing rust, especially right under the springs. Can I use some Rust-oleum to cover up this unsightly rust? I really don't like the look even though it doesn't effect the mechanical performance.

Sure. I'd try to clean away the old rust with a wire brush before appying paint though.

^^^I agree. My trailer hitch has a weld joint that is rusting to hell, once it gets warmer I'll work on it.

If you want it to last, use POR-15. It's a rust conversion product and holds up exceptionally well.

I've never heard of that, where do you find it at?

I always buy it at my local automotive paint supply company. It isn't cheap, but it is worth every penny. If you google it, I think their website has a locator.
