Not sure about the running lights but there is a tutorial about turning off the ding sound for the seatbelts. Not sure where it is but I used it and it's working perfectly.

Good luck!

STrange....my 08 Crewmax doesn't have running lights that come on upon starting the truck. On my Chevy whenever you started the truck actual headlight looking lights came on. On my Toyota nothing. I think they consider the orange "parking lights" to be used as running lights. These can be operated from the turn signal switch along with the other light controls. Maybe I am old school using the term "parking lights"...lol..but that is what they are.....not really running lights.

I believe all of this stuff has been covered somewhere on this forum, but I'm not for sure, so...

The seatbelt dinger for both passenger AND driver can be deactivated. You'll have to take it to a dealer and have them disable the chime. Don't let them tell you it can't be done...a lot of them are saying its safety and all the BS...it can be done, it's not illegal to turn it off, and more importantly ITS YOUR TRUCK! While you are there, you may want to get the OEM alarm activated as well. Run a search for this (I posted it somewhere a couple months ago).

The DRLs can be turned off as well, but its basically by the removing the DRL unit and replacing with a jumper (similar to that of the Tacoma). I'm unsure if there has been any news on deactivating it via computer. Unless things have changed, you can't activate a non-DRL equiped Tundra the OEM way...you have to splice and connect some wires. I hate to say it, but refer to TundraSolutions for this how-to.

Im not sure about the Tundra, but on our Camry, disabling the DRL was as easy as finding the resistor pack and pulling the plug. It has a "hot to the touch" warning decal.
