gearing battle

The gearing batter is between two equally prepped tundras, both 5.7's 2wd standard cab 6sp auto, yet one has 4.10 gears and the other has 4.30 gears.

I'm betting that 4.10 truck wins hands down, off the line the 4.30 truck may have a slight fender, yet once he shifts the 4.10 truck is leaving dust to follow. Less shifting and staying longer in each gear, makes for faster ET and higher Mph.

More gearing isn't always faster at the end of the 1/4, just the 1st 50ft.

Old Truck 02 Superduty Diesel--- Tundra rides better and is bigger inside and gets way better mpg, not to mention uses cheaper regular.

I don't think that one would leave the other "in the dust"...... I think you're correct at the start line, but at the finish line i believe the 4.10 would win by a truck length. I'd rather have fuel economy and a slower start, 4.10 or lower for me.....
