hauling quad and trailer with crewmax

Hi, I have just recently purchased a 26foot travel trialer and I want to also haul my quad around when I go camping, I have the crewmax truck and I am assuming that to be able to haul the quad I am going to have to get myself a deck for the box to put the quad ontop of that becasue the tailgaite of the truck will not close if I have the quad in there.
Is there anyone out there that has a similar setup that they tow with, that can let me know how the truck responds to pulling 6000lbs of trailer and 600lb quad on a deck on the box.
I actually plan on getting 2 quads to put on the deck so I guess itll be about 1200lbs on the deck and then the trailer.
I really hope I can make it work and buying one of those sled-quad decks will work being that the box is so short.

So, based on a 10% tongue weight ratio, you will have 1800+ lbs of payload (not even counting gear and people) and also towing 6000 lbs? I hope you are never driving anywhere near me.

Not to mention where the CG on your truck will be with 2 quads up that high.

Recipe for disaster IMO.

Sounds like you'll be a little over your gvwr for your truck...
Your payload on a 4x2 is 1395, and 4x4 is 1325 lbs...
2 quads = 1200lbs+ (I have a big bore and it weighs in close 670lbs with oil, fuel and winch)
1 trailer = 600lbs+ of tounge weight (plus battery, propane tanks, and whatever else is packed in the front compartments, where is the fresh water tank? Hopefully over the axles) Is that 6000lbs dry or the GVW on the trailer?
1 Quad deck = Hopefully aluminum

That's 20000lbs and beyond, before you add gear like extra fuel, people in the truck, any accessories you put on that truck. It all adds up.

I would highly suggest a helper spring, add-a-leaf or air bags for the rear suspension and a load leveler/equalizer hitch.

As well, being from BC watch out for local law enforcement... Or have they gotten easier when it comes overloading trucks?

I used to hear of guys going sledding to the mountains from Alberta and getting in trouble with the law for having two sleds up on a sled deck on a half ton truck with all the gear stowed underneath the deck.

As for how the truck will pull the trailer, it will do it wonderfully, just don't pass any gas stations. You'll need it. I pull a 31ft Jayco with my 08 DC 4x4 and it has gobs of power, but 7.5mpg doing an average of 100km/h. I put in Air Lift airbags for help in the rear, as I throw a quad in the box sometimes.
Usually end up taking 2 vehicles, but not always economical.

I know, I know, over my GVW on the truck too, but just worried about 2 quads and a deck.

Yes, to echo the other responses: It's a very bad idea. If keeping and hauling 2 quads plus the travel trailer is a must, you'll really want a 1 ton truck. A toyhauler could work better, and you would probably be able to keep the Tundra. I know it's not what you want to hear.

Thanks For The Replys, I Have To Agree Now That I Think Putting 2 Quads On A Deck With The Trailer Is A Little Over Kill For A Tundra, I Am Putting The Air Bags In This Week As Well To Help Out, But I Think I Gcan Get Away With Just Having 1 Quad, Its Just A Bumber That You Cant Take A Buddie For A Ride When Camping Or Something, I Did Look Into Toy Haulers But They Are A Little To Industrail For The Wife, So I Had To Please Her As Well And Get Something That Fairly Cushy So That Shell Be Happy As Well, Trying To Find A Deck That Wont Interfere With The Trailer When Turning Tight Is Turning Out To Be Tuff As Well, There Is A Company Called Marathon That Makes Some Perfect Ones With Sliding Sides But There 3400 Bucks, Thats A Hard Pill To Swallow After Dropping 28g On A Trailer And Then Putting In A Brake And Air Bags And Camping Gear, So Im Waitng For Bombardier To Hit The 12.00 Mark Hopefully Within The Next Few Weeks So I Can Pay For All This, Hahaha

What kind of BRP are you looking at? Or do you already have?

I have the Outlander 650XT and love it. Hopefully next year I can look at their new sxs if it is out, otherwise it will be the renegade 800.

It will be 2 vehicles for sure at that point.

There suspension isfairly good as well but I dont think they ahve allot of ground clearence, depends on what your doing with it, but they will spin the tires at around 40 going around corners and stuff, pretty neat quad
