Need new tires on stock wheels--what sizes am I allowed

I've read thru lots of posts regarding tires and wheels, and just wondering if anyone has a concise list of what tires will safely fit on my stock 18's

I would really like a tire with a little more offroad grip than the stock LTX A/S

Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor are severe snow rated and are very tough as well as good looking. Tirerack shows them in 275/65TR18 Tundra optional OE size at $166.

I should add that my stock tires are the 255/70's...I would like a wider tire if possible, like the 275's. Arkansas hasn't seen snow in a long time

The TRD package comes with the 275/65-18's, the SR5's come with 255/70-18's. Both sizes are essentially the same diameter, so your speedometer is not affected.

TRD's do come with 275/65/18's as do SR5's and even Tundra Grades. It all depends on what region you are buying the truck from and what options you get on the truck. If you are looking for a wider tire try a 285/65/18 All-terrain tire. I've heard BFG's work well but haven't tried them. One of the big issues if you go bigger is to make sure the tire doesn't rub on the upper control arm. Of course, if you do wheels too you can get more offset to move the tire out a little and get some wider rubber on it.

BFG's are old skool. The Goodyear Wrangler or Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo dont give up ride, handling and hydroplane resistance for off road "looks".

Just the stock size 275/65R18. The stock Rugged Trails were crap. They had no traction and I didn't like the closed shoulder design. The Revos have nice big tread blocks along the edge.

Here are some pics that I took back in the winter just after I got them. (click to enlarge)

I don't believe any one has answered the initial question of what tire sizes can fit on the stock 18" rims. How tall and how wide can you go without interference. He is not asking what brand of tire to buy he want to know what size. I also want to know how big I can go with out any modifications I don't care what you have I just want to know maximum width and height I can safely fit.
