08' Cash Incentives

I believe they were $4,500. Now I see NOTHING listed. I wonder if Toyota is "sitting back" awaiting the offers form the "Big 3"?

It's very possible. They are interconnected way more than we might think from a business standpoint. One doesn't do much without the other following along.

cash incentives

I was shopping for a new Tundra Friday, and the rebate here in So. Cal if 5500 or 0% for 5 yrs and $1000. cash back. At least that is what they told me at three dealerships. I got an internet quote for $ 27,591 for a Limited Dble Cab 5.7 2x. Still thinking it over. Scary time esp being a contractor. Joe

If you pay 27500 for a Tundra these days, they will probably have a party at Toyota Corp Headquarters in your name. Dealers around here have hundreds of them and are offering 8 - 10 - 12000 off. I'd keep shopping.

YEah, they will probably be happy. The MSRP on the LTD w/ Nav is $ 39K, so $ 27.500 is about $ 11,500 off. I am still hoping to do better. I tried Internet quotes. That is how I came up with these prices. I sent it out to about 6 dealerships, and some of the dealers called with prices of $ 31, 500. I told them I got lower quotes and they were like" You should take that , we can't come down that much. So we'll see what tomorrow brings. JoeC

Best quote I received was 80% of sticker. You'r talking about only 70% of sticker price. An AMAZING price quote. What dealer did you deal with?

I wasn't so much commenting about your price... just that they are dancing in the streets when they sell a truck these days. 11500 off is a deal.

One of the sales associates( the people who make all the phone calls and e-mails) at North Hollywood Toyota told me that they have Tundras that have been on their lot for 7 or 8 months. They put a green dot on them. Which she said means " sell these first", The problem is I need to sell my 06 Tundra so that I won't have 2 payments to make, and the value of used trucks has dropped as the new truck incentives is killing the used trucks resale value. Exactly. The residual value is what murdered the "Big 3" on closing out their lease contracts. Ditto with used car depressed prices (especially on anything with the letters 4WD) depressing new car purchases.

i havent really checked with the toyota dealerships but i seen alot of other makes other than toyota have huge discounts . i think toyota can hold back on dropping the price of the trucks since there cars are still making them money .. and they did stop production for a little bit as well

Agree with you wonger but sooner rather than later these operations have to "move" the 08's. At what (multi million dollar) cash discount is the question at hand though. I think $6K at least. Probably will introduce a "regional thing" whereas some areas of the US enjoy HIGHER cash rebates.

Don't kid yourself. They are slashing prices just like everybody else. Toyota is not somehow immune to the bleeding that the whole industry is feeling. Small cars equal small profits for carmakers. They make the most off of Trucks, SUVs and Luxury models.

It is also not true that other dealers are losing their butts either. It's easy in here among the brand name loyalists to believe that they are all dying... not true. I have a friend that owns a successful Chevy store. Last month they sold 273 new cars, trucks, and SUVs. Year ago figures were over 320 for the same month. That is off but not exactly dead like the media would like you to believe. Their mix was less truck heavy than years prior though...For sure.

The Toyota store several doors away also did well (but I don't know the actual figures). The lot that was once many types of vehicles is now about 50% Tundras, Sequoias, and SUVs. It looks a lot like the Chevy lot.

This problem of not selling large vehicles is pretty much the same for everybody. If fuel prices continue to drop, people will get amnesia and buy them again. Many people that are able to afford it are buying them now.

You have to realize that all makes have their loyal fans... EVEN DODGE!

zembonez.. i forgot to add.. around my area.. woops.. it also depends on the area.. around here.. people are buying alot of smaller cars.. since toyota and hondas got such a good name and good looking smaller cars with high MPG.. they can drop the price of trucks and suvs when their smaller cars are not selling.. i work for a toyota dealership and i seen alot of people trading in chevy trucks and suvs.. we recently gave someone 5000$ trade in for a 55k miles 2005 chevy suburban WOW.. the lost was not worth trading in.. since the smaller car they got would take 20+ years before they can even break even.

You are right. People are nuts. There are a couple of Tundras for sale on the Chevy lot. It doesn't just happen at the Toyota store.

People ARE buying smaller vehicles but people here seem to forget that there are a lot of excellent smaller vehicles out there without a Toyota badge. I know this site has a ton of blindly loyal Toyota fans (I also think Toyota makes a good product) but in spite of what everybody in here likes to call a POS (you know.. anything non toyota) there is a lot of real competition... and they are getting better year by year.

I'm not trying to incite a brand name war here. I own several brands of vehicles... Including a Toyota.
