What To Do Now?

I see my local Toyota dealer offering a new 08' Tundra $40,898 Limited Ext Cab 4WD for $31,958. About 78% of the sticker. GM's light duty trucks are now going for 75.5% of sticker. Will Toyota raise their cash incentives even more to move these units? For GM's Employee Disc campaign is not being received very well according to GM exec's. Which means even HIGHER rebates from them too? When will these numbers be enticing enough to rid dealers lots of the 08's?

Go haggle with the dealer. They should drop the price some. You'll want to pay invoice (which they should show you. If not, find another dealer) minus Toyota's rebates.

I doubt if the factory incentives from Toyota are going to get any better than they are now. Toyota has stopped production of all Tundras until November so they won't have a huge inventory to get rid of like the Domestics. I would see if the dealer wants to work it down a little more and then jump on it if it is really the truck you want. That is a good price!

I agree 100% except GM's Employee Discount program is NO where as successful as the last one. In so NOT being, they're going to have to come up with HIGHER incentives to move their excess 08' inventory. Which MAY carry over to the other auto makers such as Toyota?????? Just a thought on my part.

Wait til '09's are about to hit the lot and '08's should be a steal, if there are any good ones left.

New rebate is only $4K. They reduced it by $1K. Hmmm. GM and Ford are in effect RAISING their offerings via their Employee Disc programs all the while Toyota is LOWERING theirs???????

Many Dodge Rams are going for HALF OFF sticker. Granted, no one knows how long Chrysler will be in business. Large truck sales are in the crapper. Negotiate, negotiate, negotiate. Beyond rebates and published financing deals, there are often "hidden" incentives to dealers this time of the year. I got my 2005 on the last day of August 2005 for way below invoice, even after the rebate.
