Tire pressure while towing

Who has added more air pressure to the rear tires when towing a trailer. I have an 8000 lb 5th wheel which I have towed to the east coast and the west coast. I have had not had any problems with 34 PSI. The side wall indicates 44 PSI max. So has anyone tried 40PSI? I balance and rotate every 5000 miles and the tires look good. Have about 17,000 happy miles on my 2008 Tundra 5.7. It is a shortcab and short bed with a auto sliding hitch. This setup works really well. I get about 9 miles to the gallon in flat land, about 7.5 in the mountains. Thought maybe the extra PSI might make it roll a little better.

I run 40 in the front and rear. I notice as its gets colder the ride got a little more bumpy. Other than that its a great pressure for the BFG RT's what tires are on your rig?
