Hi.... I've done some searches on this and came up empty. Hopefully some from this site might have some info for me.
I have a 2002 F250 PS that I am considering selling, and am looking at Tundras. I have a ranch in northern NM, and access is very rough. I think that the Tundra 4X4 capability is more than adequate, but I will still be needing a winch. I have one mounted on my F250 that I'll transfer over.
I don't want it mounted up all the time however, and want to use a front receiver hitch, so I have some questions...
1) Anybody already use a front receiver hitch? Can you post a picture?
2) Did you install it yourself? How was it? I'm guessing the bumper has to come off...
3) Did the install of the receiver allow your bumper to be mounted back in correct alignment with the body of the truck?
4) I'm assuming that there needs to be a little bit of cutting/trimming of the bumper material. It looks as if there is a slot in the bumper through which a hitch might extend. Anybody know if the receiver input mounts above or below the large frame bar up against the inside lip of the bumper?
5) What is the standard current capacity of the Tundra Alternator?
Thanks!
